i want a pair for my bridesmaid, but don’t want plastic/tacky ones!

Not for use at home-don’t care if I ever use them again. Inexpensive is what I need, I just don’t want to use plastic or disposable.
#1-I live in the Chicago area, please recommend stores in the area or online.
#2-I have an extensive collection of crystal and stemware. I have invested literally thousands of dollars in them. I don’t want to use them because the party is not in my home and it isn’t safe or convenient to move them.
#3-decent plastic wine glasses (not the 2 piece cheapies) cost $2-3 per glass, for that expense I’d rather have glass.
#4-beverages, especially wine, tastes better in glass rather than plastic. The petroleum used in making plastic leaves a residue and the taste/odor is transferred.

I’m looking at the Ikea ad and they are having a sale for a 60 pieces tableware set for $40; regular price is $90. It comes with folks, spoons, places, deep dishes, wine cups, mugs and glass cups. I know that is extremely cheap. however, they only have white and I’m not a big fan of white dishes.

I figure I can buy them and use them for everyday meals and save the nice colorful plates that I have for when I have dinner parties. Any suggestion or whether or not I should buy it?

Recently at a party a colleauge was drinking a glass of wine and telling anyone who would listen about it.He said the nose which was spicy which reminded him of a recent trip to spice a market in india and when he drank some he fought he had gone to heaven, vanilla exploded onto his taste buds,all the while holding the glass up to the light and rolling the wine around the glass,he added that he supected the grapes where grown on a coastal facing slope.At the time i was quite impressed with his knowledge as where the others,quite a crowd had gathered.
But now i look back at it i wonder was he just being a bit silly?
