We are visiting Napa Valley in a few weeks, where are the best places to go?
We will be in Napa Valley for approximatley 2 days in Mid April, can anyone recommend the best places to go, and would it be wise to book anything before we arrive?

If you don’t have to go to Napa Valley itself:
There are about 5 “wine countries” in the area. If you have the time to go a bit further, the least crowded one is the Anderson valley, in Mendocino County. You basically go to Cloverdale and turn left, then follow State Highway 128 northwest to almost Fort Mendocino – it comes out just south, in Albion or Elk. There are 40 or 50 little wineries between Booneville and Philo.
If you can afford it, Fort Bragg and Mendocino (the town, not the county) have a dozen very nice B&B’s and another dozen “cloth napkin and real flowers” gormet restaurants.
The next least crowded is either the Alexander Valley, which is again State Highway 128, only this time the stretch north of Calistoga to US 101, or the Russian River Wineries, many of which are along Westside Road in Sonoma County. Google “Hop Kiln Winery” in the Google maps to see an example.
The Napa valley proper – the 10 – 12 miles of State Hwy 29 centered on St. Helena – is usually very crowded.

The fifth wine country is the one around the town of Sonoma. It is usually a bit less crowded than the Napa Valley but more crowded than the other three I mentioned.

Out of all the items being sold in today’s market, a wine bottle refrigerator are not seen very often, yet they are gaining in popularity for their updated temperature technology and their ideal environment for storing a multitude of wines for any occasion. This Bosch is well worth the money if you have it; however, lower priced wine bottle refrigerators do exist. For instance, brands like Avanti, Amana, Danby, Haier, and GE are safe for your check book. Anything secondhand is always a good option, as well. Look out for brands like Cuisinart, Kitchenaid, and Emerson because they tend to be of lower quality. If you are looking into purchasing an economically-sane wine bottle refrigerator, major areas of concern include average temperature, temperature stability, humidity, ventilation, and light. These criteria, if not met properly, can cause your precious vino to perish.
Other important areas of concern are the placement of your wine bottle refrigerator in your home. Be sure that it isn’t placed in an area that experiences sunlight or drafts from doors or windows. To avoid issues with light, it is suggested that when choosing a door for the refrigerator, those who choose a glass door should make sure to get darkened or smoked glass to filter out the light.
When the right wine bottle refrigerator is found, you will definitely get comfort in knowing you are properly storing your wine collection to preserve it for many years to come.
